Youth and Family Ministry

The-Answer

During the School Year (August-May) our weekly programming includes:

  • Sunday School with classes for children 2yrs-8th grade
  • Wednesday evening Primetime with dinner and educational opportunities for all ages.
  • Our high school group meets Sunday evening (6-8pm) for fun, fellowship and faith formation.

To get up to speed with all of the exciting opportunities we have planned for the 2014-2015 School year, you can check out our 2016-’17 Youth and Family Calendar that describes “Regularly Scheduled” as well as “Occasional” events, retreats and programs. You can also download, complete and return our annual “Consent/Release Form” so we have your info and your child is ready to participate. Many of our upcoming events are also included in the Monthly Calendar on this site.

There are tons of great resources online to help and support Christian parents with children and teens. Here at Hope, it is the goal of our staff to help families to walk in faith together. We’ve created a page on this site to point parents toward some of these resources. Check it out!

Program Description

The name for our youth ministry program is The Answer.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)

The Bible says that people came to Jesus with questions, and he didn’t necessarily fix all of their problems, he simply gave them answers. A key goal of our ministry is helping students to understand Jesus’ answers, specifically what does it mean that Jesus referred to himself as the way, the truth, and the life. We want students to understand the implications of Christian values in the context of our chaotic world.

  • The Way is our ministry for students in 4th through 6th grades. We are trying to set these young people on the correct path for their life. We’re trying to show them the way. Through Sunday School, Wednesday night Primetime, special events and retreats, these children have the opportunity to learn about God’s love and build relationships with others, so that as they move on in life, they will have help along the way.
  • The Truth is our ministry for 7th and 8th grade students. These are our church’s Confirmation students. Through our Wednesday night Confirmation program and Sunday School, we place the truths about God, the Bible and humanity into the hands of these young people. Through study, fellowship and service these truths are illumined and clarified so that as our confirmands move forward, they will have the skills and tools they need for life.
  • The Life is our ministry for high school students in grades 9 to 12. Having received the truths of God, our high school ministry seeks to facilitate relationships and a community environment that is welcoming, accepting and caring, asking questions regarding how to live our lives for Jesus in the midst of a non-christian society. Through weekly classes, gatherings, retreats, events, trips and just hanging out, our youth connect with God and one another in a way that encourages life.
